A fresh design for R&D GREET life cycle analysis tool

R&D GREET® 2024 .Net software provides the user with an easy to use and fully graphical toolbox to perform life cycle analysis simulations of alternative transportation fuels and vehicle technologies in a matter of a few clicks. This new tool includes the data of the R&D GREET Excel models, a fast algorithm for processing it and an interactive user interface. The interface allows faster development using graphical representation of each element in the model, and drag & drop editing approach to add and modify data.
The R&D GREET.Net software can be only installed in Windows OS with Microsoft .Net Framework 4.5 installed.

The most recent version of R&D GREET.Net data file is 14254.
The data file version can be checked or updated through “Database”→ “Check for data updates”

To users who have installed previous R&D GREET.Net versions (e.g., 2023):

Although a previous R&D GREET.Net version (e.g., 2023) may be able to load the latest data file in this release, it is highly recommended to upgrade the software to R&D GREET 2024. To do that:

  • Uninstall all previous versions of R&D GREET.Net through “Control Panel”→ “Programs and Features”
  • Delete (or move to other places if the following files contain your modifications) “default.greet” file, “Mapping” folder, and “Scenarios” folder under your “Greet\Data” folder, normally in C:\Users\[Your name]\Documents\Greet\Data
  • Download and install R&D GREET® 2024 .Net software
  • Important: when installing R&D GREET.Net, Windows may prompt the following message "Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running this app might put your PC at risk". To continue, click "More info" and then "Run anyway" to complete the installation
  • Click "GREET® 2024" icon on your desktop, and you are ready to use R&D GREET.Net

  • If the old “default.greet” file you move to other places contains your modifications, it is possible to merge those changes to the new “default.greet” file. Please refer to “Data Merging” section of the “GREET-Manual.pdf” (Menu Bar→"About"→"User Manuals")
