The GREET team at the Systems Assessment Center of Argonne National Laboratory is pleased to announce the release of the R&D GREET Interactive Rail Module (Beta Release 2).

The Systems Assessment Center at Argonne National Laboratory has developed an interactive standalone rail module to provide a consistent platform for the life cycle analysis of rail fuels. This module evaluates the environmental impact of various fuel and powertrain options for both freight and passenger rail systems. This module uses Microsoft Excel with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) to enable an interactive user interface for easy access.

In this beta release 2, bugs of the previous beta release (e.g., data error, functionality related bug) are fixed. A detailed documentation is also provided to understand the structure and use this tool comfortably.

The R&D GREET Interactive Rail Module is developed with Microsoft Office 365. For best performance, we highly recommend using Microsoft Office 365 to run the module.

To download and open R&D GREET Interactive Rail Module:

• Click to save R&D GREET Interactive Rail Module (Beta Release 2).zip file to your hard drive
• When the download is completed, extract the zip file
• Double click "R&D GREET Interactive Rail Module (Beta Release 2).xlsm", and choose to "Enable Macros", if prompted.
• You may need to unblock both spreadsheets by going to the properties and making these as trusted documents.
